Guide: How to Use the Pokémon Sun & Moon IV Calculator

Pokémon Sun & Moon IV Calculator

Step 1: Pokémon Selection

1. Begin by selecting the Pokémon species from the "POKÉMON SPECIES" dropdown menu. Click on the dropdown arrow to reveal the available options.

2. Choose the desired Pokémon from the list. If you're unsure of the Pokémon's egg group, nature, or characteristic, you can leave those fields blank for now.

Step 2: Nature and Egg Group

1. After selecting the Pokémon species, you can now choose the nature of your Pokémon. Look for the "NATURE" dropdown menu and click on it.

2. From the list, select the appropriate nature for your Pokémon. If you're not familiar with natures, you can refer to Pokémon databases or guides to determine which nature is best suited for your Pokémon.

3. Additionally, if you know the egg group of your Pokémon, you can select it from the "Egg Group" dropdown menu. If you're uncertain about the egg group, you can leave it blank.

Step 3: Base Stats and Effort Points

1. In this step, you will provide information about your Pokémon's base stats and effort points (EVs).

2. The "Base Stats" section displays the base stats of the selected Pokémon. Enter the base stats of your Pokémon in the corresponding input boxes. If you're not sure about the base stats, you can find them in Pokémon databases or guides.

3. Next, the "Effort Points" section allows you to distribute effort points among different stats. Enter the number of effort points your Pokémon has gained in each stat according to your training. If your Pokémon has not gained any EVs, leave all fields at 0.

Step 4: Level and Stats

1. In this step, you will input the level of your Pokémon and its current stats.

2. Enter the level of your Pokémon in the "Level" field.

3. Input the current HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed stats of your Pokémon in the respective fields.

Step 5: Individual Values (IVs)

1. The "INDIVIDUAL VALUES" section allows you to calculate the Individual Values (IVs) of your Pokémon.

2. The "Median" field displays the median value of each stat based on the entered information.

3. Use the "Lv." field to adjust the level of your Pokémon if needed.

4. The "EPs" field represents the Effort Points gained by your Pokémon. Adjust these values if necessary.

5. The "Spread" field displays the calculated distribution of IVs based on the provided information.

Step 6: Damage Taken

1. The "DAMAGE TAKEN" section displays the damage multipliers for each type against your Pokémon.

2. It shows how much damage your Pokémon would receive from Ghost, Fighting, and other types.

3. Use this information to determine your Pokémon's weaknesses and strengths in battles.

Step 7: Calculated Stats - Min/Max

1. The "CALCULATED STATS - MIN / MAX" section provides the calculated minimum and maximum stats of your Pokémon.

2. The values displayed here are based on the Pokémon's IVs, EVs, level, and other factors.

Note: If you encounter an error message such as "Halt and Disable Operator!" or a prompt suggesting you select a Pokémon species, please ensure that you have followed the previous steps correctly and that all necessary fields have been filled.

Congratulations! You have successfully learned how to use the Pokémon Sun & Moon IV Calculator. Utilize this calculator to optimize your Pokémon's stats and enhance your battle strategies. Good luck on your Pokémon journey!

Instructions ±

Welcome to the Pokémon IV Calculator! This tool allows you to determine the Individual Values (IVs) of any Pokémon based on their details. It can also calculate the Pokémon's stats at any given level and deduce the type and power of their Hidden Power move.

If terms like IVs and EPs sound unfamiliar to you, don't worry! We recommend reading a Pokémon Training Guide before using this tool to familiarize yourself with these concepts.

Here are some example use cases to get you started: Blacephalon, Dusk Mane Necrozma.

IV Calculation (make it look simpler?)

* Fields marked with an asterisk are optional.

It's important to track your Pokémon's Effort Points (EPs) accurately, as any errors can lead to incorrect calculations. If needed, you can reset their EPs by feeding them anti-vitamin berries.

The Judge function in the PC Storage System is a useful tool that can assess your Pokémon's potential and identify the stats with the highest IVs. It will also notify you of any zero IVs. To unlock this function, visit the Stat Judge at the Battle Tree after hatching at least 20 eggs at the Pokémon Nursery.

In the Calculator, you can use the CTRL/CMD key to select or deselect multiple stats simultaneously.

For highly accurate results, you can use this calculator at level 20 and utilize a few Rare Candies. If you want to preserve your Rare Candies, make sure to save your game before using them.

Single mode: The accuracy of the results increases with the Pokémon's level. If you're calculating the IVs of a low-level Pokémon, provide additional information such as leveling up, evolving, or changing its form. The "+Lv." and "+EPs" indicators show how many additional levels or Effort Points (at the same level) are required to refine the resulting IV spread. Note that alternate forms and Mega Evolutions can also impact the calculations.

Team mode: This mode is useful for IV Battles. You can calculate the stats of multiple Pokémon at once. To do an IV Battle, gather a team of low-level Pokémon, battle with a friend online, and force them to level 100 . Then, write down their projected stats.

Row mode: Use this mode to calculate and examine the details of the currently selected Pokémon in more detail.

Stat Calculation

This feature uses the median IVs and input Effort Points to accurately calculate a Pokémon's stats at a given level.

Hidden Power Calculation

Hidden Power's type is determined by a Pokémon's IVs. If you already know the type of a Pokémon's Hidden Power move, it can help in calculating the IVs.

The Hidden Power psychic, located inside the Pokémon Nursery at Paniola Ranch, can provide you with the exact type of Hidden Power for a Pokémon.

By using the IV spread (or median IVs if locked), you can calculate all possible combinations for Hidden Power.

EP training tools

EP tracking
To enable tracking mode, unselect an active row. Then, select the appropriate item, opponent species, and number fought to calculate the Effort Points gained.
EPs Calculation
This feature is particularly useful for competitive battlers. First, calculate your current Pokémon's stats and modify the stats in the first row. Then, use this tool to view how many EPs are required to reach the desired stats.
